Description

You can scroll around with the directional pad to see the atomic number and weight of each element. If you select an element and press [EXE] you will get an even more detailed description, and even a picture! This powerful calculator enables you to plot and analyse graphs and their transformations, import data directly over USB, plot data charts and calculate statistics, calculate and visualise probability distributions, plot and solve graphs in 3D, calculate matrix and vector arithmetic, perform complex calculations not possible on a scientific calculator, calculate spreadsheets and recursive sequences, and whole host more. For some reason, Casio only lets you graph lines in 5 different colors, even though the screen can display many more than that. However this is made up for by the fact that you can customize the style of the line as seen below. Additionally, you can find the values of the summary statistics quite easily for any lists of data that you have. Remember: The functionality keeps expanding Oxford Educational Supplies Limited is a private limited company and has no affiliation to the University of Oxford or Oxford University Press (OUP).

The fx-CG50 is also able to simplify radicals and fractions all on its own. So that means if you enter a radical, say √24, you will get the answer as 2√6 instead of a decimal. (Of corse, you can press a button to get the classic decimal answer if you ever need it) The Casio FX-CG50 is capable of performing a wide range of mathematical operations, including basic arithmetic, algebraic equations, and statistical calculations. It also supports graphing functions, making it a useful tool for students and professionals alike. The Casio fx-CG50 has a library of 21 apps. This is more than most calculators and each app dives fairly deep into whatever function it performs. We won’t go over all of them but we will talk about some of the most useful/significant ones.

The high resolution color screen is also a plus for usability. You are able to see more items in each menu at once and the colors make the important things and pieces of information pop. Textbook Printing and Exact Answers Another reason many teachers are interested in using the fx-CG50 is that it’s a lot better at displaying and calculating statistics than the fx-991ex. In Statistics mode, which is shortcut ”2” in Main Menu, there’s a whole range of features available to construct pie charts, bar charts, histograms and box plots (referred to as a MedBox on the device) lists of data. It’s very useful, as the device will draw these diagrams and graphs for you. If we take the box plots example, you can easily draw up to three of these and then compare them. The device also gives you access to the summary statistics. You can TRACE a point and find out for example, the median value. the lower quartile; or the smallest value in the list. The history feature means you can do a calculation and then do another calculation with that answer. However, unlike on scientific calculators there is more than one line of input shown, meaning you can expand or amend a series of calculations further and even go off the screen – you can keep scrolling down, and you’re not limited to the space shown on the screen. Exploring graph mode Featuring a large memory capacity, the calculator allows for the storage and retrieval of data, formulas, and graphs. Additionally, it supports data transfer to personal computers and can be connected to other devices for enhanced functionality.

You can also explore surds,This experience is different to the one on scientific calculators, where it is a straightforward button press. On the fx-CG50, accessing the radical is a subordinate function, so you must press the SHIFT button first, and then x 2to get you the square root. The biggest disappointment when it comes to the design is the way the calculator is powered. The fx-CG50 uses 4 AAA batteries. It is a bit disappointing that we couldn’t see a rechargeable battery in this calculator especially because it came out somewhat recently, but this is one of the reasons that the price isn’t up quite as high as the TI-84 Plus. Knowing these two views is useful because sometimes you may need a decimal because it’s asked for in a question, or sometimes you use the fraction because that’s an exact answer. We think that The Casio fx-CG50 is basically a better, nicer, version of the Casio fx-9750GII. There is a pretty big price difference, but you get a nicer build, a color screen and some more advanced features.
